How to Report a Listing

Modified on Tue, 12 May at 5:02 AM

If you come across a listing on Nyangu that appears fraudulent, inaccurate, or in violation of our guidelines, you can report it directly from the platform. Nyangu takes all reports seriously and investigates every submission.

When should I report a listing?

You should report a listing if it:

  • Appears to be fraudulent or does not match the property in person
  • Contains misleading or false information about the unit or property
  • Shows photos that do not reflect the actual condition of the property
  • Has already been let but remains active on the platform
  • Is listed by someone who does not appear to have legitimate authority over the property
  • Requests payment outside of the Nyangu platform
  • Violates any of Nyangu's listing guidelines

How do I report a listing?

Open the listing you want to report and tap the report icon on the listing page. Select the reason that best describes your concern, add any additional details, and submit. You do not need to be a registered user to report a listing, but having an account allows us to follow up with you directly.

What happens after I report a listing?

Our trust and safety team will review your report and investigate the listing. During the review, the listing may be temporarily suspended. If the report is upheld, the listing will be removed, and the account associated with it may be restricted or permanently banned, depending on the severity of the violation. You will be notified of the outcome where possible.

Will the landlord or agent know I reported them?

No. All reports are confidential. The person whose listing you reported will not be told who submitted the report.

What if my listing has been reported, and I believe it is incorrect?

If your listing has been suspended following a report and you believe this was done in error, contact our support team at support@nyangu.com with your listing details and any supporting documentation. Our team will review your case and respond within 48 hours on business days.

Can I report a user as well as a listing?

Yes. If you have had a problematic interaction with a landlord, agent, or renter on Nyangu beyond a specific listing, you can report the user directly from their profile page. Select the report option and provide as much detail as possible.
