When a landlord wants an agent to manage showings and tenant inquiries for a property, they assign the property to an agent through the platform. Here is how the assignment workflow works from your end.
Receiving an Assignment
Landlords can assign properties to agents in three ways. You may receive a direct invitation from a landlord you already have a relationship with. You may be selected by a landlord who browsed your profile through the Nyangu agent directory. Or you may submit a proposal in response to a landlord who has opened a property assignment for proposals.
Regardless of how the assignment originates, you will receive a notification when a landlord wants to assign a property to you.
Accepting an Assignment
- Log into your agent dashboard and review the assignment notification.
- Review the property details, including location, type, pricing, and any specific instructions from the landlord.
- Accept the management role to link the property to your profile.
Once you accept, the property will appear in your dashboard, and you will have full access to the property's information and management tools.
What Happens After You Accept
After accepting an assignment, you can begin managing the property immediately. This includes setting your availability for tours, receiving and responding to tour requests from renters, coordinating with the landlord on property status and updates, and managing renter inquiries on behalf of the landlord.
The landlord retains ownership of the listing and can monitor your activity. Clear, consistent communication with the landlord is key to a successful working relationship on the platform.
