Property Verification Documents

Modified on Sun, 3 May at 3:57 AM

To ensure that all listings on Nyangu are legitimate, you are required to provide proof of ownership or authorized management for each property you list. This is a core part of how Nyangu protects renters from fraudulent listings.

Accepted Documents

You will need to provide at least one of the following:

  • Certificate of Occupancy (C of O): Issued by the state government, this is the primary document that confirms legal ownership of land and property.
  • Deed of Assignment: A legal document that records the transfer of property ownership from one party to another.
  • Land Survey Plans: An official survey document that identifies the property's boundaries and location.
  • Any other valid document that establishes your legal ownership of or authorized management over the property.

How to Submit

Property documents are uploaded during the listing process when you add a new property. You will be prompted to upload the relevant documents before the listing can be reviewed.

Review Process

Once submitted, the Nyangu team will review your property documents to confirm their validity. You will be notified once the review is complete. If additional documentation is required, you will receive a request specifying what is needed.

Managing Properties on Behalf of Others

If you manage properties on behalf of another owner, you should provide a letter of authority from the property owner in addition to the ownership documents. If you operate through a registered property management company, your CAC certificate (uploaded during landlord verification) serves as supporting documentation.

Each property you list requires its own set of ownership documents, even if multiple properties are owned by the same individual or entity.
