Why does Nyangu verify identities?

Nyangu is built on trust. Every landlord, agent, and renter on Nyangu goes through identity verification so that everyone you interact with is who they say they are. This protects you from fraud, reduces disputes, and ensures every transaction on the platform is backed by a real, accountable person.

How does identity verification work?

Identity verification on Nyangu is powered by Prembly, a licensed identity verification provider. You will be asked to submit a government-issued ID, which Prembly checks against official government databases to confirm your identity. The process takes only a few minutes.

What ID documents are accepted?

Nyangu accepts the following government-issued documents for identity verification:

National Identification Number (NIN)
Driver's license
International passport
Voter's card

How long does identity verification take?

Identity verification is typically completed within minutes. You will receive a notification once your verification is confirmed.

What happens if my identity verification fails?

You will receive a notification explaining why your verification was unsuccessful. Common reasons include an expired ID, a mismatch between your submitted document and government records, or an illegible upload. You can resubmit with the correct information. If you believe there has been an error, contact our support team at support@nyangu.com, and we will assist you.

Is my personal information safe?

Can I use Nyangu before completing identity verification?

You can browse listings without completing verification. However, to list a property, sign a lease, or make a rental payment through Nyangu, identity verification must be completed first. This protects all parties involved in a transaction.
